Corey Billington is widely regarded as one of the world’s
foremost authorities, innovators and thought leaders in supply chain
and procurement practices. Currently, he teaches best practices
as a professor at IMD, a leading global business school in Lausanne,
Switzerland. Prior to joining IMD, Corey was VP of Supply
Chain Services at Hewlett-Packard, where he managed procurement
and central engineering. Among his previous roles at HP, he was
also Executive Director of Strategic Planning and modeling, serving
as a key pioneer of HP’s approach to supply chain management.
While in that role he founded TradingHubs, which grew into the HP-led
consortium B2B exchange eHitex. Earlier in his career, Mr. Billington
was a Consulting Associate Professor at Stanford University’s
School of Engineering, where he lectured on management practices,
and performed strategic planning for Raychem and IBM.
Professor Billington’s focus on supply chain stems from a
desire and ability to constantly innovate new processes, products,
and business methods. His interest in supply chain management began
in the early 1980s during research towards his PhD in Industrial
Engineering and Engineering Management at Stanford University. Before
the term ‘supply chain’ became common vocabulary, he
was inventing techniques for supply chain improvement and predicting
the widespread trend towards increasing profit margins through effective
supply chain management.
Padman Ramankutty is a well-noted supply chain expert who sits
on the board at Optiant, Inc., and serves as a strategic advisor
to industry-leading companies, including Nike and Rubbermaid. Mr.
Ramankutty brings more than 20 years of experience and thought leadership
in supply chain management, advanced planning and scheduling solutions
to Verical.
Ramankutty previously served as the CEO and co-founder of Bristlecone,
Inc., a global technology consulting company and provider of extended
supply chain solutions. In his role, he oversaw the development
and execution of go-to-market strategies for Bristlecone’s
competencies in supply chain management, ERP, and applications management
services.
Prior to Bristecone, Ramankutty headed SAP’s High Tech Global
Industry Business Unit where he successfully positioned SAP R/3
as the premier enterprise solution for the semiconductor industry.
He also played a key role in the development, strategic assessment
and marketing of SAP’s Supply Chain Optimization and MES programs.
Harry Sedgwick is an entrepreneur and venture capitalist in a range
of industries, the product of a career that’s spanned over
40 years. He founded and managed six of his own companies and has
served in executive or board level roles in both venture and financial
services settings. The founder of Henry D. Sedgwick Associates,
he has provided advisory services and arranged financing of dozens
of companies dealing in information technology, e-commerce, inventory
distribution and medical systems. Mr. Sedgwick has been a lecturer
at the business schools at Yale, Wharton, Columbia and New York
University on the financing and management of early stage ventures
and is the co-author of The New Venture Handbook (American Management
Association, 1987). Mr. Sedgwick is a graduate of Harvard College,
A.B. 1951, and holds a degree in Business Administration from the
Centre d’Etudes Industrielles of Geneva, Switzerland, currently
known as IMD of Lausanne, Switzerland.
Mark Walsh is a Internet/New Media luminary known for leading hyper
growth in emerging markets. Mr. Walsh currently serves as CEO of
Genius Rocket (www.geniusrocket.com), a mid-Atlantic start-up, and
is also founder and managing partner of Ruxton Ventures, LLC, a
private equity and investment firm. Notable Ruxton investments include
Blackboard Inc. (the publicly traded leader in enterprise software
for the education industry), Half.com (acquired by eBay), and Day
Corp.
Previously, Mr. Walsh was a member of the board of Blackboard
Inc., and served as President , CEO, and Chairman at VerticalNet,
the first publicly traded B2B Internet company. Before VerticalNet,
he was a senior vice president and corporate officer at America
Online, where he founded and managed AOL Enterprise, AOL’s
B2B division. Prior to AOL, Mr. Walsh was President of General Electric's
GEnie Online Service, Vice President and General Manager of the
Interactive Services division of CUC International, and headed HBO’s
new business development in New York for the HBO and Cinemax brands.
Mr. Walsh serves on the board, or as an advisor to a number of
public and privately held companies as well as non-profits. He hosts
a popular talk show on XM Satellite Radio. Mr. Walsh earned his
MBA from Harvard Business School and B.A. from Union College, where
he serves as a trustee.
